Blow out flowerbeds of leaves and debris. Rake and remove leaves: Use a leaf blower or rake to collect fallen leaves from the lawn and garden beds. Final mow: Give the lawn a final trim at a lower setting to prevent it from becoming matted under snow. Fertilize apply a fall fertilizer to give your lawn a boost for the next season. Trim and prune: Cut back dead or damaged branches on trees and shrubs. You can also prune some perennials. Tidy beds: Clear all leaves and debris from garden beds and around the base of plants.
